Celebrated my 55th birthday on two days as per the Julian and Hindu calendar. Wore a Moirangphee and a Kanchi Silk saree for each occasion. Also visited a couple of temples and watched Swatantrya Veer Savarkar at a theatre.
I finally wore the Garad Korial Saree that I got from Kalpavastram. It’s a beauty and the sheen of the silk is spellbinding. Do add one to your collection ! #ILoveHandloom

The saree am wearing today is a classic and a gift from my soul sister Vidya ! Muthu Kattam, red and pure silk – what’s not to like ?
We received Andal’s Kili (parrot) Prasadam today and I decided to pose with it :). A beautiful golden coloured Arani silk with the Rudraksha motif in the border.
Wore an old favorite saree today – an Earth coloured Kanchi silk with checks all over that Krishnan bought for me in 2007.
I wore a black saree today that has Parrots as the motif all over. Bought this saree ten years back at RmKV Bangalore.
I wore the beautiful blue Kanchi silk saree today. This is woven by Gopinath’s team and I call it Bindu’s blue ! It’s butter soft and a pleasure to wear.
The title says sarees because I have written about two of them that I wore for Karthigai last year and this year… A saree addict will only be happy with “sarees” 🙂
I discovered the handwoven Mysore printed silk sarees when we visited the Priyadarshini Handloom store in May this year. Sharing the joy !
