I celebrated my birthday at the eco-friendly Mud House “Van Bhoj”, enjoying simple home-cooked food and tranquil surroundings. Ofcourse Bhagwan Ram choosing to celebrate his birthday with me this year was totally divine !

Celebrated my 55th birthday on two days as per the Julian and Hindu calendar. Wore a Moirangphee and a Kanchi Silk saree for each occasion. Also visited a couple of temples and watched Swatantrya Veer Savarkar at a theatre.

I wore the beautiful blue Kanchi silk saree today. This is woven by Gopinath’s team and I call it Bindu’s blue ! It’s butter soft and a pleasure to wear.
I finally got the silk durbarpet that I have been wanting ever since I bought the cotton durbarpet saree. Thank you Gopinath for recreating this in silk.
For celebrating the National Handloom Day and my friend Enakshi’s birthday, I wore a red Kanchi Silk saree with checks from Gopinath’s looms.
A beautiful teal coloured Kanchi silk saree …. What more could a saree addict ask for, and when it is a Son’s gift, its extra special.
Anything done or started on Akshaya Tritiya day is supposed to grow manifold. Met school friends and added to our special memories.
