Reliving the 2010 Turkey trip – Day 9, Fairy Chimneys
On Sept 13th we saw fairy chimneys for the first time at Cappadocia. These are volcanic rock formations and the landscape is surreal.

On Sept 13th we saw fairy chimneys for the first time at Cappadocia. These are volcanic rock formations and the landscape is surreal.
On Sept 12th, 2010 we flew from Istanbul to Cappadocia to see the famous fairy chimneys ! The next four days were spent in Cappadocia.
We visited the Gallipoli Peninsula Historical National Park and the Canakkale Martyrs Memorial where in a way the Turkish Republic was born !

Enjoy a virtual tour of Ephesus, House of Mary and the temple of Artemis. The Roman ruins at Ephesus are some of the best preserved ruins.
Day 4 in Turkey and we visited the famed Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the even more famed Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern.
Our 2010 anniversary was celebrated with an afternoon and evening cruise over the Bosphorus. We got to see the New Mosque too.
