Jai Shri Ram, Jai Jai Shri Ram

ஶ்ரீ ராம ஜெயம் ! What a year 2020 is turning out to be !! So overwhelmed. Looking forward to the “Bhoomi Pujan” at Ayodhya tomorrow. Jai Shri Ram !!!!

The celebrations have started today itself. I cleaned the lamp at home and lit it in the evening and kept a candle outside in the balcony. Tomorrow, we will celebrate along with PM Modi as he represents us at Ram Janma Bhoomi.

This is history unfolding in front of our eyes…. No words, just pics.

I kept chanting the following Shloka that is the last part of Vishnu Sahasranamam.

श्री राम राम रामेति रमे रामे मनोरमे ।
सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं रामनाम वरानने ॥

The simple translation is – just taking Rama’s name is equal to reciting the 1000 names of Vishnu. Tomorrow Krishnan and I will chant the full Vishnu Sahasranamam of course.

Nov 9, 2019 the historic Ram Janma Bhoomi verdict was given.

I had written the following words as part of my blog ஶ்ரீ ராம ஜெயம் ! Jai Shri Ram !

“What a historic day today is !! Krishnan and I were very emotional and in tears because for the first time, it felt as though Hindus were valued in India, that our feelings matter and our way of life has a chance … I don’t mean any disrespect to any other religion, but there has been a concerted effort to downplay India’s history, culture and its Hindu ethos.

Every Hindu festival is being dissed, Hindu Gods are being denigrated and our way of life has been taken advantage of. India’s ancient wisdom has been mocked at and in many parts of this great land Hindus have been reduced to a minority. Christians have Christian countries, Muslims have  Muslim countries, the Jews have one country and Hindus NONE …. how is that fair?

Its a lot of these feelings that makes many of us so emotional – even people like Krishnan and I who aren’t necessarily very religious but are very proud of our country’s lineage and cultural ethos.”

We are very emotional today as well ….
