Cost of Pollution – 90 Days Delay

It’s a crazy coincidence !!

I wrote about GRAP 3 Implementation and Its Impact on Construction on Nov 17, 2024. Basically, an area of about 10 tiles was left unfinished on both our balconies courtesy the implementation of GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan).

Our personal GRAP was leaving Delhi NCR for a couple of months when the official GRAP was in play. When we got back on Feb 6, the work on the bathrooms was nearly done …. GRAP delayed that work too. Finally it was time to complete the tiling work in the balconies.

The crazy coincidence is, the tiling work got completed on Feb 18, exactly 90 days after it was stopped. If anyone says that we don’t pay a huge price for polluting our cities, well, they need to get their facts right. This delay has cost us as customers and the implementation of GRAP has affected the workers too … they come from far off places and the sudden implementation of GRAP means they wasted money on transport and don’t get paid for that day’s work !

Hoping with the change in the Delhi government, the issue of pollution will be taken up seriously. Punjab still has P(AAP) in power … so fingers crossed.

Here is a picture of our balcony with beautiful tiles … one feels like stepping out more often now. 🙂
