Movie Review – 420 IPC

Totally by chance, I started checking the Zee5 OTT channel, in the morning today. Am glad that I did, because I found this movie titled “420 IPC”. It had Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey so we decided to watch it.

The Plot

The movie starts from the first frame itself. Bansi Keswani (Vinay Pathak) is a chartered accountant who goes around visiting his clientele – one, a top MMRDA boss and the other a builder. We understand that he isn’t doing very well because his wife Pooja (Gul Panag) complains of not having enough to pay for the home loan EMI. First there is a CBI raid, then Bansi Keswani gets arrested for theft and forgery !!

The plot begins to unravel from this point onwards – and whoever has written the script has outdone himself/herself. Director Manish Gupta is also to be commended for his brilliant direction. One is never able to guess the actual culprit and keeps moving from one character to the other as new evidence comes out in the open.

I won’t spoil the fun by giving away the plot. Do watch for yourself :).

Recommendation – 420 IPC is a delightful movie. A refreshing change from the song and dance routine of Bollywood. Vinay Pathak is exceptional as always.

Its an one hour 37 minute long movie so very easy to watch. No song and dance sequence to bore you and excellent actors. What more does one want from a movie. This is also about economic offences and we don’t have too many movies that deal with this topic in a meaningful way.

Do watch !
