The Munnar saris

I wore some really nice saris while we were at Munnar. A Puneri, a printed silk, and a Satya Paul too … Couldn’t resist :).

We arrived in Munnar on June 13th from Bangalore. I picked out a Puneri sari, which is a silk-cotton one to wear on the drive. We bought it at the Poona sari shop when we visited Pune for Dinky’s wedding. Krishnan just loved this sari the minute it was shown. We thought Amma would wear it and bought it for her. She refused to wear a new sari and wanted me to wear it a few times … Well, I exchanged it with her for another similar lighter coloured Puneri sari that I had worn a few times. Moms are for exchanging saris :):). The picture of this Silk-cot is a little dull, because the lighting is not very bright inside the room and I am a little exhausted because this was after a long drive through bad hilly roads. The blouse is a Khunn again from the same shop in Pune.

Just love the mustard yellow border and the blue body.

This next sari I wore is from Prasiddhi silks in Bangalore. It’s a printed silk with chevrons. Bought it a few years back. The funny thing is, this sari’s blouse has become my sample blouse for the tailor. So am wearing it with a black blouse that belongs to the Satya Paul that I wore on another day. The neckpiece is from Desh Maheshwari and a beautiful piece. Don’t think this printed silk is hand loom though. Lighting is an issue in all the pictures since it was raining everyday.

I wore a Satya Paul for our full day of sight seeing on the 18th. I bought this at an end of season sale that Shalini had told me about, at the Satya Paul outlet in Ambience mall. I only buy Satya Paul’s when they are on sale, otherwise I find them a bit expensive. Love the painted and printed ones without bling. This one is my favorite black chiffon with the painted Pallu in brown. Even the black has some self design. The neckpiece is from Desh Maheshwari, Noida and the stone is jasper. Am squinting because the sunlight was strong just when we started, then it started to rain :).
