Tamil Puthandu Vazhtukkal – Chitappa Found

On April 13th late in the evening, I spoke to my cousin Aravind, who was back in Tirupati with a few more cousins to continue the search for Chitappa …. do read Chitappa – Lost and Yet to be Found. I gave some suggestions using some logic of my own, but all of us were truly worried as it was the 7th day since Chitappa had gone missing.

Tamil Puthandu (New Year) is on April 14th, but this year, those doing “Tarpanam” (rituals for the forefathers) were celebrating it on April 13th evening as the Chithirai Month started that evening. Most of us were hardly in the mood to celebrate. As we were discussing about the “Puthaandu” and what to make for it, Pavithra (my Athai’s daughter) called and said “Malu, Chitappa has been found, he is fine and on his way back home”.

What a relief !!!!!!

Chitappa was at the Arakkonam station and my youngest Chitappa went and brought him back home.

Interestingly Nisha had called just the previous evening saying ask Aravind to chant the “Kaartveerya Arjuno Bhava” mantra over and over again. It’s meant to bring back things and people that have been lost. That’s what our dear friend and Nisha’s mother Raji would say apparently. Well, Raji has been proven right once again, Chitappa was lost and we did find him.

All our prayers have been answered and our entire family (immediate and extended) did celebrate the Tamil New Year happily.

On April 14th, we celebrated Tamil Puthandu, Kerala Vishu, Bengali Poila Boishakh, Assamese Bohag Bihu, Odia Pana Sankranti and Punjabi Baisakhi (April 13th). Wishing everyone a great new year ahead.
