Today we got out early for our morning walk and everywhere we turned, there was a riot of colours, signalling the onset of spring. Our condominium’s horticulture team has done an outstanding job of placing flowering plants in every small patch of green.
In 2002, I went to the UK for the first time. Everywhere I went, I saw beautiful hanging pots with these flowers in every colour possible. I am not a gardener, despite having a green thumb because travel takes precedence ! Plants do not survive … and we don’t have a plant creche :). Maybe that’s a business idea for some youngster. Build a plant creche in condominiums.

According to The Mother (Aurobindo Ashram), Bougainvillea is a flower that keeps you safe. My mother would always pluck a few of these flowers to put on the dashboard when we set out on our road trips.
Here is a pic of Mummy with her favourite Bougainvillea flower at a Petrol Pump, Yavatmal, on March 25, 2024. This was during our return trip from Coimbatore last year.

I have always been partial to the flame of the forest tree … the entire tree turns into flowers during spring. I have a few pics of this tree from our trips to Uttarakhand. Will find them and do a separate blogpost only on this tree.
Wanted to share a couple of pics from Nalagarh and Coorg …. especially the Coffee flowers from Coorg are not found in Gurgaon or Delhi NCR.
