On Dec 13, PM Modi inaugurated the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. It was an emotional moment for millions of Hindus… even hardcore HMVs or wherever you fell on the spectrum of ModiJi/BJP-hatred. Krishnan and I were in tears seeing the “spectacular” corridor. Just before Covid struck in March 2020, I had booked tickets on the Vande Bharat train to Varanasi and had booked the darshan tickets.
We wanted to experience the Vande Bharat train journey and of course visit Baba Vishwanath. The first time I visited Kashi was in Dec 2010. I told Krishnan in 2010, that we will never go back to Varanasi because spirituality couldn’t overcome the filth and muck of the place.
Then Modi Ji happened to India and specifically to Varanasi….
We went to Varanasi again in 2018. Harrowing drive, insipid hotel, mind-blowing transformation – Varanasi 2018. Even in 2018, the transformation was staggering. The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project was not showing any signs of being in existence, but the ghats were clean, the entrance to the temple was clean and the whole city was on its way to becoming a “great” city once again.
Baba Vishwanath was left with merely 3000 Sq Ft officially by the invaders, plunderers and their progeny that ruled over India, post “Independence”. The fascist fundamentalist Modi Govt has given him back nearly 500,000 Sq Ft officially by requesting encroachers to vacate and many others being given alternate options. Please Note – Mahadev is “Vishwa”Nath. Vishwa is the entire Universe, Nath is ruler or God or leader. Feel free to draw whatever conclusions you wish to !

There are workaholics, then there is Modi Ji. This man is not a workaholic because he doesn’t consider his work as a “job”. India has to regain its lost glory and should become a modern “Vishwa Guru” is all that he cares about.

Long before Modi ji became the PM, many people in India would say, the reason why China is growing so well and is ahead of India, is because their leaders wake up and think about development while Indian politicians were worried about their “seat”, Son, Daughter or “property”. Now when we have a Prime Minister who only thinks of the country’s development, the same people can’t deal with it. I often wonder why 😂.

It pained me immensely to see Nandi facing fenced Gyanvapi. That has to be reclaimed. No excuse for that. This is the first small step.
