On Janmashtami, Nilesh Oak had posted the following posters on FB and Twitter. Sharing them here. He says Krishna was born in the year 5626 BCE.
According to Nilesh Oak, Krishna lived for 101 years.
In Jan 2018, Krishnan and I attended a talk by Nilesh Nilkanth Oak titled “Timeline of 17000+ Years of Unbroken Indian Civilisation”. This was conducted by Srijan Foundation (now called Sangam Talks) at the INTACH centre, New Delhi. We had the good fortune of meeting Nilesh and ever since I follow his work on FB and Twitter.
We were totally mesmerised by Nilesh. He has taken corroborating evidence from geology, river data, climate data, flora fauna, astronomy, oceanography etc to date the Mahabharata and Ramayana. According to Nilesh, the Kurukshetra war took place in 5561 BCE.

I love Nilesh’s work because he is open to debate and questioning and openly invites scholars to disprove his dating of the Ramayana and Mahabharata. I sincerely hope and wish history books feature his work and his work gets the “official” stamp.
There are many out there who call the Ramayana and Mahabharata as myths and Rama and Krishna as mythological characters. Well, there are many political, religious, cultural agendas involved in calling them myths.
Rama, Ramayana, Krishna and Mahabharata are as much a myth as –
- Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide is or
- Hilary Clinton’s love for India is or
- the thought that Pakistan is a peaceful country is or
- the propaganda that the Chinese virus only killed 3000 odd people in Wuhan is.

According to “The Age of Imperial Unity” by RC Majumdar who proposed to write on “Freedom movement” with Government sponsorship in 1952 has put the date for Kurukshetra war to be around 1500 BC. But i guess Indian literature has been tempered to a level where deciding the exact turn of events is almost impossible.
