A Linen Saree

When I took out the blue linen saree to wear today, I realised that I haven’t blogged about it ever :). How crazy is that. I bought this saree from Devika’s Ithy-Adee in 2017.

The first time I wore it was in Arun’s place on May 25, 2017. This was my first linen saree and remains the only one in my wardrobe.

This is a handwoven linen saree that’s airy and super comfortable for summers. Over the years I have worn it several times and I managed to find a couple of pictures from those occasions.

The colour of the saree changes a little depending on the light… my hair length changes depending on when I get a haircut 🙂

Don’t ask me about my waist size or weight. It waxes and wanes with the moon 🙄.

About Linen

Linen is a fabric derived from the flax plant. The fine fibers are extracted and spun into yarn. The yarn can then be made into sarees or other shirt/dress material. This yarn is very durable and can be washed frequently. The most popular use is in making bed sheets etc.

The Flax plant has many uses – we eat the Omega 3 rich flax seeds and Linseed oil is extracted from them.

A Saree a day …. Sparks joy Everyday !!
