Ever since I heard about Whitney Houston’s death, I have been mulling over this topic – the importance of balance in life, how you use the gifts you are born with and your relationship with the universal force that obviously exists… Here are four pictures.
Two of these pictures are obviously most familiar – Michael Jackson when he started out and a few years before he died. The lady in the other two pictures is M S Subbulakshmi, one of the most celebrated Carnatic vocalists. She died at the age of 88 and the picture of hers is a few years before her death. She is the first musician to be awarded the Bharat Ratna and she also received the Ramon Magasaysay award. She started to sing when she was very young and gave her first public performance at the age of 13.
What a huge difference balance and devotion can do…. Both are geniuses. Michael Jackson’s voice was a gift just like MS’ – but MS sang in devotion to her God and her face remained as beautiful as her voice and there is a light that touches her …. What did MJ do with his gift ? Chased a wrong dream ? Never focussed on the right things in life and see what it does to him !!
