Just after the Aarogyahaar coaching session was done, Priyanka asked me if the pic on this blog is from Pahalgam. I told her that it was from Khajjiar, near Dalhousie. It looks just as stunning as Pahalgam does, minus the terrorists, plus the diehard patriots !!!
We visited Dalhousie and Khajjiar in April 2015 as part of our 45 day driving trip across Himachal Pradesh for ShikshaDaan. The minute I stepped out of the taxi, I told Krishnan, this is the place I want to be at. The rolling green meadow, ringed with pine trees and snow capped mountains.. oh, it was truly like heaven on Earth. Check out the post from 2015 – Postcards from Khajjiar.

The movie, 1942 A Love Story was shot in Khajjiar. The forest guest house was Manisha Koirala’s house I think. It’s still there.
We need to go back to Khajjiar and soon. It was nice to relive the memories but more important to make new memories.
