We had made plans to visit Ayodhya this year as we wanted to witness the Deepotsav in person. Since we had a bereavement in both sides of the family, we decided not to go. Then I saw news about Modiji visiting Ayodhya and we were tempted all over again :):). I guess we could not have made it even if we wished as the security would have been tightened for the PM’s visit.
Watched the Deepotsav on TV and what a spectacle it was !! Especially the laser show that retold the entire Ramayana on the walls of Ram Nagari Ayodhya. Here are some pictures of Rama Nagari totally decked up to receive Maryada Purushottam Raja Ramachandra back from his Vanavas.
Thanks to Twitter handle @Appagouda Patil for sharing the above pics.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi was given a special welcome at Ayodhya. He is like a rock star with a massive fan following cutting across party lines.
And Ayodhya looks stunning !! Do read my earlier blog from 2018 – The land of 7000 temples – Ram Janma Bhoomi, Ayodhya. In the pictures above, Ayodhya seems to be totally transformed.
This year our condo complex also had an electric Deepotsav :). Some pictures showing the beautiful lights that people had put up on their balconies. The housekeeping team had done an amazing job of lighting up every block.

We didn’t put up the lights on the balcony but I lit the regular lamps at home. Thanks to Sanjay and Anu for gifting us a beautiful Diya holder… one of the brass lamps fitted right in.
Wishing everyone a Shubha Deepavali and a wonderful year ahead.
