Thursday is called Brihaspativar or Guruvar in the Hindu calendar. The planet associated with Guruvar/Brihaspativar is Jupiter (Guru/Brihaspati) and its considered to be MahaVishnu’s day. Brihaspati is the Guru to our Devas and Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. The colour of the day is yellow as Krishna’s favourite colour is Pitambar.
Who is Brihaspati ?
Brihaspati graha refers to Jupiter which is considered to be the most auspicious and influential planets in vedic astrology. Sage Brihaspati is born to Sage Angiras. Brihaspati is the Guru of the Gods. One of his son’s is Maharishi Bharadwaja whose son is Dronacharya, the Guru of Kauravas and Pandavas in the Mahabharata. Sage Brihaspati also impersonated Shukracharya, the Guru of the Asuras for ten years when Shukracharya was meditating on Shiva. Brihaspati managed to lessen the friction between Devas and Asuras with his teachings as Shukracharya !!
Our scriptures are so fascinating.
Yellow – the colour of the day
I don’t have many sarees in yellow. Today I wore the Yellow Moirangphee that I have worn several times. What an amazing saree this is … have washed it a few times already since 2019 because I have worn it many times. Do read about this saree in my earlier post – The first Moirangphee !
I also took a couple of pictures of Yellow flowers in our condo complex.
The Indian Laburnum flowers are made into a chutney in Andhra and TamilNadu. I haven’t tried it yet though.
Jupiter and Corona Virus
A great astrologer Sri Brahmasri Kaimukku Raman Akkiripad had predicted the pandemic in 2019 basis the movement of Jupiter. Unfortunately he too succumbed to the virus in wave 2.
Do read this article where Brahmasri Akkiripad has shared his analysis of Jupiter’s movement and the resultant pandemic.
May the pandemic hopefully end in September 2021 and the economy recover by April 2022 as per this great astrologer’s prediction.
Jai Sri Krishna 🙏🏿
