Modelling “Adorjo”

There is a story behind this neckpiece …. These are corals that I bought at the ghost town Dhanushkodi, near Rameswaram when we visited last year in June. The only person who deals with all my costume jewellery needs is Sharat Jyotsna or Nisha as I call her – the beading diva who runs “Adorjo”. So I handed over the beads to her and look at what an awesome piece she strung together !

Nisha, I had picked up another Desh Maheshwari piece to wear with this sari, but then I remembered this beauty that you had made for me. Thanks and please let Raji know that the spokes don’t poke :):).

About the sari – the border is the Naupatna design (newfound knowledge) but the sari is a power loom product. I bought it at Kumaran stores many years back. These saris are made with mercerised cotton and last forever. They don’t wrinkle easily so that’s an added plus.

This is at the hotel Country Inn, Bhatinda today morning. All ready for the meetings of the day.

Have a great day folks.
